WangDang's novel in note form Tang Yulin has a relatively important historical value and provides rich and fresh materials for studying the marriage culture of the Tang Dynasty.Through the study of Tang Yulin, there are three forms of marriage in the Tang Dynasty, which are summarized by the text reading method and mutual proofs of literature and history: the marriage based on the social status, the political marriage, and autonomy in female marriage. The marriage based on the social status is mainly manifested in two aspects: one is the marriage of the Shandong clan, and the other is the marriage of other clans. The marriage of the Shandong clan is divided into the "seven surnames" in the early Tang Dynasty, not intermarriage with the surnames, and the superficial marriage on the surface of the middle and late Tang Dynasty. The marriage of other scholars is divided into the marriage of Guanzhong with the "seven surnames" and the climbing of the new aristocracy to other clans. From this,we can see that the marriage was in the entire Tang Dynasty society, and occupied the mainstream of marriage concept in the early Tang Dynasty. In the middle and late Tang Dynasty, with the growth of the emerging class forces, the marriage based on the social status day gradually declined, and finally gave way to political marriage.Retired to the second place. The rituals and ethics of the old sects and the filial piety of the filial piety and the family style formed by the literacy of the priests are the reasons for the long-term existence of the marriage.Political marriage is mainly manifested in two aspects: First, the marriage that favors the privilege for profit, not only the ordinary scholars need to rely on marriage to seek political backing, even the emperor needs to rely on marriage to win the power;second,as a victim of political struggle Marriage, the wife or daughter of the bureaucratic class who lost power in the political struggle or thewinner is given to others as a wife,or is given to the emperor as a beggar. In this case, the marriage relationship is also included in the political marriage.Although political marriage was supported by the royal family in the early Tang Dynasty,it was still affected by the marriage of the door.It was gradually occupied by the middle and late Tang Dynasty. This was mainly influenced by the imperial examination system.Autonomy in female marriage is mainly manifested in three aspects: one is the divorce behavior against the law of the Tang Dynasty, the second is the female re-marriage behavior, and the third is the “jealous wife” phenomenon in the family. From the perspective of female autonomous marriage, the relative improvement of the status of women in the Tang Dynasty was mainly influenced by the "Hu Feng",the Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism, the promulgation of the female policy in the early Tang Dynasty and the emperor's emperor. These three reasons interact with custom, thought, and policy to improve the status of women. In general, the exploration of the marital status revealed in Tang Yulin can not only provide a more in-depth study of this book, but also provide a new material for the study of the marriage culture of the Tang Dynasty,so as to gain a deeper understanding.
