Emotion plays an extremely important role in human daily life, while the memory is the eternal topic of human beings. The relationship between emotion and memory is the focus in the areas of emotional and cognitive during the latest research, but also a leading subject in the cross field of emotion and memory. In recent years, by studying the relationship between emotion and memory scholars began to move their eyes from veridical memory to false memory gradually, but the current research in this area of domestic is still in the preliminary exploration stage. There are some problems in the procedures used in researches. Emotional states induced by experimental procedures need to be further controlled. In this study, we designed an emotional vocabulary based on the classical DRM vocabulary, and explored the mood-congruent effect of false memory with three experiments gradually.Experiment I: Selected subjects by using Self-rating Depression Scale, and then we tested false recognition rate about emotional words of depression and non-depressed individuals. We explored the mood-congruent effect of false memory by comparing the difference between them.Experiment II: First, Happy or sad emotional state should be induced and assessed, followed by learning tasks and interference tasks, thus to keep the emotional state until carrying out tests. By doing this, the mood-congruent effect of encoding can be detected. Experimentâ…¢: All subjects learned the vocabulary in the natural state firstly .Then happy or sad mood was induced before the recognition test to explore the mood-congruent effect of extraction. In conclusion, this study analyzed and discussed the mood-congruent effect of false memory comprehensively with laboratory experiment method, including both encoding and extraction. The following tips were included in our results.1. The emotional characteristics of words significantly influenced false memory based on the emotional vocabulary.2. The false memory based on DRM paradigm has mood-congruent effect. 3. The results revealed that there was mood-congruent encoding effect in false memory in the situation of evoking emotions before learning the vocabulary, and mood-congruent effect of extraction in false memory in the condition of inducing emotions before recognition.4. There was more false memory effect in the condition of evoking emotions before recognition than in the condition of inducing emotions before learning.
