This article begins with the background of IB,gives a brief introduction of IB school and clearly explains its trend,purpose and meaning in China.As the students in IB school are multi-cultured,the article clearly elaborates its research scope,which is a research on teaching Chinese as second language in IB MYP.Further,the article introduce IB language class setting considered with second language acquisition,it claims the importance of Chinese learning in IB school.The author precisely explains the Chinese class arrangement,meanwhile claims the most important point of Chinese teachings as a second language is the 6 different language developments periods.The author also tells why the teaching needs to have that 6 different language development periods and the advantage of doing that.Besides that,the author also differentiates the students on the different language development periods for different study objects.The author introduced “Unit of Inquiry”.In order to obviously show a whole unit learning,the author takes a real unit planning for example.She precisely shows how the IB Chinese teachers plan a unit topic,write the statement of inquiry,arrange the assessments,and how they bring the evaluation correspondence with all of them.At the end,it is also point out that both of the English teaching in China and Chinese Teaching in IB school belong to second language acquisition.The two different target language learnings may have some common poionts to study and share with each other.
