With the constant development of digital media technology,the gap between traditional media and art forms are increasingly blurred.As an important technical means and artistic expression,animation has been used in various fields and formed the concept of “Pan Animation”.Although the ubiquitous animation elements make it more difficult to define the animation itself,we cannot give up its exploration and understanding as a unique form of artistic expression.This paper focuses on the specific direction of animation film.It starts from the creation mode of an animation film,and a series of discussion and exploration are made about the application and combination of static image and dynamic image in the animation film,hoping that through this discussion it can enhance the understanding of the characteristics of the animation film itself,open mind in the process of creating works,and seek more abundant artistic languages and expression means.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter of the introduction is to explain the purpose and background of the research.The second chapter is to sum up and conclude the relevant definitions of animation,animation films,comics,static images and dynamic images.In the third chapter,it mainly studies the relationship and difference between static images and dynamic images,and explores the relationship between them and their respective characteristics as an independent form of communication.It expounds the reasons and functions of psychological continuous reaction brought by film editing mode of the Soviet Union montage and traditional comics through semiotic theory and it is found that the reasonable sense of pause in the animation film can lead to the phenomenon of “residual consciousness” in the audiences' viewing,and make audiences consider the meaning given by incoherence of the time and space in the film.In the fourth chapter,the conclusions from the first three chapters are combined with the excellent experimental animation films to make analysis of different combinations of static image and dynamic image and specifically discuss how to do rational understanding and use in the process of animation films creation.In the fifth chapter the theory is combined with practice and it is used in my own graduate work “Military forces are to be used only for the maintenance of peace and order,and hostility should be changed into Han”,hoping that it can deepen my understanding and grasp of the respective characteristics of dynamic and static images through practice.In the five chapters of this paper,it is found a reasonable combination of static image with dynamic image in the animation film can not only further narrow the distance between authors and audiences,and make the author convey space and character modeling characters more clearly and profoundly to the audiences,but also leave the audiences a more profound image of the film through the understanding and analysis of the relationship between cartoon and painting,cartoon and animation,animated film and film,and dynamic image and static image.As an animator,we not only need to pay attention to “dynamic part” of animation,but also pay attention to the “static part” of animation in the process of animation film creation so that we can understand animation more profoundly and clearly.
