With the advancement of economic globalization,English,as an general language,shows a more and more important role in international communication.The updating of new knowledge demands students to keep learning.“Teach a man to fish is better than just give him some fish”,cultivating students' self-study ability is the basis to help students keep learning in the rest of their lives.Resent years,developing secondary vocational school education has been advocated strongly.The ministry of education put forwards specific requirements for secondary vocational school students in Vocational School English Syllabus.It points out that English-study should not only focus on knowledge but also on English ability.Therefore,study on enhancing student's English self-learning have been payed attention widely in academic circle.This paper rely on the three levels of self-learning ability,picked up two vocational education centers as study objects.Through the methods of questionnaire and statistical analysis,this paper studied the general English self-learning ability of students in secondary vocational school,which aims to realize the current situations about general English learning and explore problems about English self-learning ability of students in secondary vocational school.And this paper also analyzed reasons which caused those problems.Finally,from the aspects of establishing a favorable English learning atmosphere,mastering necessary English-study strategies as well as improving the academic evaluation mechanism in English and so on to enhance secondary vocational students' self-study ability.This paper is divided into six parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the research backgrounds and significance,domestic and foreign research summaries,research methods,research design and points out innovative points of this research.The second chapter introduce the theoretical basis,including the related research concepts.The third chapter mainly analyzes the current situation of students' self-study ability in secondary vocational school.The fourth chapter analyzes the problems in student' self-study ability as well as its' related reasons.The fifth chapter proposes solutions to improve secondary vocational school students' self-study ability.The sixth chapter is the conclusion of this paper.
