The Analysis Of Hintikka's Game-theoretical Semantics

Firstly,this article discusses Wittgenstein's picture theory and Tarski's logical semantics,and then discusses its relations: the similarity is that both they have the thought of truth-conditional functions and recursive method,the difference is that the former deals with the meaning of formal language and the latter deals with the true or false of natural language.It is the similarity that connects the picture theory of Wittgenstein with the logial semantics of Tarski,and it is the difference that clearly distinguishes the logical semantics of Tarski from the game-theoretical semantics of Hintikka.Secondly,this paper discusses the naming relationship.Naming relationship is the key part to understand game-theoretical semantics.According to Hintikka's literature,from the perspective of naming relationship,we can not only understand the relationship between Wittgenstein's picture theory and his theory of language-games,but also can help us to understand Hintikka how to establish game-theoretical semantics from the perspective of philosophy of logical semantics.Thirdly,this paper discusses how to deal with quantifiers in ordinary language.Tarski's logical semantics are built on the view of “logic as calculus”.This logical view excludes the real world,so this sort of semantics have trouble in handling quantifiers in ordinary language.Thus,Hintikka deals with quantifiers based on the theory of language-games.Thirdly,this paper discusses how to deal with quantifiers in ordinary language.Tarski's logical semantics are bulit on the view of dealing with meaning of formal language.This logical view excludes the real world,so this sort of semantics have trouble in handling quantifiers in ordinary language.Thus,Hintikka deals with quantifiers based on the theory of language-games.Finally,this paper discusses the game-theoretical semantics of Hintikka and its applications.The game-theoretical semantics of Hintikka is quite complicated.First,its semantics use the truth definition of Tarski's logical semantics.Second,the way of dealing with the meaning of formal language is abandoned and the way of dealing with ordinary language in Wittgenstein's language-games is introduced into the game-theoretical semantics.Third,the way of dealing with quantifiers in ordinary language is extended to the treatment of propositional connectives.According to the above analysis,this paper has the following chapters.In the first chapter,the first section discusses the domestic and foreign research in related fields.The second section discusses the idea of research.In the second chapter,the first section discusses Wittgenstein's picture theory in the context of “the relation between language and reality”,and analyzes important concepts.The second section discusses the logical semantics of Tarski.The third section discusses the relations between Tarski's logical semantics and picture theory from two paths: one is similarity and the other is difference;and the influence on Hintikka.In the third chapter,the first section discusses the naming relations and the relations between the theory of language-games of Wittgenstein and his picture theory.The second section discusses the game for quantifiers.In the fourth chapter,the first section discusses the basic concepts and models of semantic.The second section discusses the applications of game-theoretical semantics and short comments.
