A Study On The Application And Expression Of Traditional Cun Techniques In The Sketch Of Ningxia Liupan Mountain

In the present thesis the author adopts mainly the research methodology of literature reviewing and experience summing up to make an exploration on the Cun(?)techniques.On the basis of several personal professional problems and by aiming at the features of the folded stones in Liupan Mountain during a landscape sketching in the author ' s hometown,the problems of formal transformation of traditional Cun techniques are explored.Cun techniques are crucial skills in landscape painting,as well as the result of“observing and image taking”in landscape sketch developed by the generations of painters.Based on the history of painting,this thesis combs out the historical evolution of Cun techniques,summarizes the types of from the forms of points?lines?planes,and analyzes the role of Cun techniques in landscape sketch,therefore illustrates the relationship between them.That is to say,from landscape sketch the basic factors of Cun techniques could be refined and as well a mature Cun technique contributes to landscape sketch.During the landscape sketch in Liupan Mountain,the present author found that the traditional Cun techniques could not present the folded rocks completely and perfectly.In Chinese painting a combination of form and spirit is necessary for sculpturing an image.The presentation of the“spirit”must lieon the foundation of a basic similarity in form,while the landscape painting should refer to building images.In order to present the external characteristics of the folded rocks in Liupan Mountain and perform its magnificent features,the present author selects“Pima Cun,Fupi Cun and Zhedai Cun,etc...”(????????????)as the foundation to make a formal transformation,therefore makes a new technique to describe the mountain.In consideration of the fact that the trees are the important object in painting and essential factor in the whole structure as well,some related research has been done as an extension and completion.From creation to maturity,then getting the recognition from the society,Chinese Painting techniques really has a long journey ahead.It is difficult to promote the research on Cun techniques from personal experience to a theoretical height.It needs to refine abundant formatic factors by means of quantities of sketching practice on the foundation of a solid succeeding from the tradition.For this goal,we need to keep diligent practice as the former masters and try to master the patterns of traditional Cun techinques,figure out the details of formal transformation of Cun techniques by copying the excellent classic works.In addition,the close reading of classical literature on painting history,theories and techniques should be strengthened,and the theoretical mastery and sketching practice should be combined,therefore the research on this topic could go further.
