Self-control is the key to human success and happiness.As the elite reserve talents of the country and society,college students' self-control is particularly important for the development of the country and society.However,due to the low academic pressure,more free time and lack of supervision from teachers and parents,the present situation of self-control of contemporary college students is not optimistic,and the campus is full of inadvertent learning and entertainment.In order to maintain the healthy development of college students and train high-quality talents for the country and society,it is urgent to improve the self-control ability of college students.As the saying goes,"Know the enemy and you're yourself,and you can fight a hundred battles with no danger of defeat ",it is necessary to study self-control of college students.At present,the research on self-control is mostly based on energy model and dual-system model.More and more studies have questioned these two models.Therefore,we urgently need to explore the self-control of college students from a new theoretical perspective.Construal level theory provides a new perspective for the interpretation of self-control.The key factor of self-control is person whether know what thinking process can promote or weaken self-control.From this point of view,this paper tries to test the influence of construal level on self-control and whether individuals understand this influence.The purpose of this study is to verify that high-level construal is more conducive to self-control than low-level construal.Moreover,we can regard this beneficial effect as a kind of tacit knowledge.College students have such tacit knowledge.The degree of this tacit knowledge can predict the results of self-control of college students in real life.Two experiments are used to verify the effect of construal level on self-control and the individual perception of this effect.Finally,the tacit knowledge level of the subjects was measured,and the self-control of the subjects was predicted(the specific index was Internet addiction).Based on the results of the study,the corresponding intervention suggestions were put forward.A total of 308 undergraduates from a local university were recruited as subjects,of which 66 were in study 1,130 in Study 2 and 112 in study 3.Each subject was randomly selected and assigned.All subjects' mother tongues were Chinese.Quantitative research was conducted with specific tasks,hypothetical situations,self-evaluation and psychological scales.Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA,repeated measurement ANOVA and linear regression.The results are as follows: 1.High-level construal is more conducive to self-control;2.Individuals know that high-level construal is more conducive to self-control than low-level construal,but can not accurately express it,so it is a kind of tacit knowledge;3.The more tacit knowledge(self-control benefits of high-level construal)an individual grasps,the more successful self-control is,indicating that participants' level of tacit knowledge in self-control benefits of high-level construal,can predict the results of participants' self-control in real life.
