With the development of politics and economy in China,the era puts forward higher requirements on students English competence.Oral English communicative competence is especially important.However,in the past,English teaching paid more attention to grammar explanation and exercises.The cultivation of students oral ability has been neglected.In addition,some English learners also have a certain degree of shy psychology,the contradiction between the two aggravates the psychological pressure of students,thus hindering the cultivation of students oral English communicative competence.Many students are nervous,worried and afraid when speaking English,accompanied by blushing,stuttering and low volume.And rural students are more likely to be shy.Therefore,how to help rural students overcome the shy psychology of oral English communication to improve their oral communicative competence is the main problem to be explored in this paper.This study is based on the theory of communicative psychology,the second language acquisition theory,the face theory and the shy theory,and uses the literature research method,the classroom observation method and the survey research method to carry out the analysis and research.This paper made a survey on the situation of oral English communication in junior middle school in the rural areas of Guangxi and the situation of the students oral communication through the investigation and analysis of the situation of the oral English communication in the rural middle school of the region,and analyzed the causes of the students to speak English,and then found out the ways to eliminate or overcome the students shyness in oral English communication.These specific and effective strategies were put forward to help rural students improve their oral English communication skills.This paper is divided into six parts.Firstly,it explains the value and significance of solving the psychological problems of English oral communication shyness in rural junior high school students from three aspects: the origin of the research,the purpose and significance of the research,and the research ideas and methods.This paper also analyzes the research focus and trend of oral English communication teaching at home and abroad,the obstacles existing in oral English communication among Chinese students and the difficulties in second language acquisition of foreign students,and so on,which provides the basis for the research topic.Then the core concepts of oral English,oral communicative competence,shyness and shy psychology are defined,and the theories of communicative psychology,second language acquisition,face theory and shy theory are put forward.Classroom observation,questionnaire survey and interview survey were used to investigate and analyze L schools in County D.Data analysis and explanation were made on the design and implementation of the research,the results and analysis,and the level of shy psychological performance,and so on.At the same time,the author summarized and sorted out the concrete shy performance of the students in L school.Then through the four levels of students,society,school and family,this paper analyzes the causes of rural junior high school students shy psychology in oral English communication,which is manifested in the following aspects: the individual psychological barriers and the weak knowledge base;There are some deficiencies in rural students oral English communication situation and cultural information in rural areas;Deficiencies in school teachers,teaching and classes;And parents didn't have a high level of education and didn't attach enough importance to students oral English.Finally,according to the causes of the four levels of the corresponding solutions,from the students self-correction,social support optimization,school management innovation and family education renewal four aspects put forward strategies,including: students break through the concept of barriers,and the improvement of social support,the innovation of school management and the renewal of family education.Strengthen oral practice;The society should invest more in improving the school hardware facilities,improve the treatment,retain and attract outstanding teachers,and the relevant departments should try their best to care for the mental health of the left-behind children in rural areas;The school should create the atmosphere of cultivating oral ability,stimulate the enthusiasm of oral language speaking in class,and create the opportunity of extracurricular oral practice.And parents should attachimportance to the oral communication training of students and assist the students to carry out self-training.We should adopt actively these strategies to help rural junior high school students overcome the shy psychology of oral English communication.At last,this paper summarizes the whole study,and looks forward to the study of overcoming students shyness in oral English,and the research can be further studied.
