As can be observed in contemporary Chinese language,the construction "? p ? q(Bu P Bu Q)" not only reflects the Coordinating Relation,but also the Hypothetical Relation.Based on a great amount of corpus and language facts,this study attempts to comprehensively analyze and detailedly depict the Hypothetical Compressed Construction of " ? p ? q(Bu P Bu Q)" by adopting Three-Plane Theory,Construction-Chunk Parsing and Production-Oriented Approach,hoping to make a significant contribution to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.This thesis includes 7 chapters.In Chapter 1,it is Introduction,which reviews related literature,points out their disadvantages and explain the significance of this subject.Secondly,research theory and methodology are elaborated respectively.Thirdly,the source of corpus is expounded.In Chapter 2,syntactic features of "? p ? q(Bu P Bu Q)" are explored and described.Firstly,syllable,part of speech,and the adverbial word "?(Bu)" are classified and discussed.Secondly,grammatical function is further analyzed.In Chapter 3,a semantic analysis is carried out.This research discusses the Semantic Selection Restriction of "p,q" separately,and then explores the whole meaning of construction,i.e.the Invisible Hypothetical Relation.In Chapter 4,a pragmatic study is emphasized.This research depicts and analyzed materials from Language Economy,Rhetorical Device and Textual Cohesion.In Chapter 5,the forming reason and cognition of its Hypothetical Compressed Construction are interpreted.The formation of construction is restricted and influenced by Order Principle;with certain cognitive basis,construction is formed by objective law and subjective will.In Chapter 6,the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is the core.The application of"? p ? q(Bu P Bu Q)" in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is interpreted by virtue of Construction-Chunk Parsing and Production-Oriented Approach.Furthermore,such application is improved via its teaching design in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.In Chapter 7,it is Conclusion,which summarizes the research contents mentioned in Chapter 2,3,4,5 and 6,concludes the innovative points and research result of this thesis,shows its weakness as well as prospect.
