"Sanyaotai" is a proprietary form of banquet in some areas of Daozhen county and the gelao people of wuchuan county.In Daozhen county,Sanqiao town and daqian town(in guizhou province)are the core areas in guizhou."San Yaotai" is a local dialect,its meaning is: "end",after the locals extended to a banquet to eat tea,wine,dinner is the end of the table,so named "San Yaotai".The first for the "tea" : oil tea and tea for friends and relatives to wash dust,let everyone quench thirst and hunger,with local oil tea and fruit snacks;The second seat for the "banquet",mainly to drink,supplemented by dry dishes(dishes);The third is the "meal table",mainly to eat,on the "nine bowls and ten dishes".Dinner after the banquet,a complete San Yaotai is over.This characteristic form of banquet has been evaluated as the provincial(guizhou province)and the national intangible cultural heritage.It can be said that "San Yaotai" is only a kind of diet custom,but it contains many cultural elements of Gelao people.It is a new way to study the culture of qianbei gelao people.In "San Yaotai",the cultural elements include Gelao people's way of living,etiquette,taboo,construction of interpersonal relationship,flow of gift and division of labor of gender.On the one hand,it inherits the traditional culture of gelao people on the basis of the color of the ecological background.The gelao people which lost its native language has set a new benchmark for cultural identity."San Yaotai" as a form of banquet,involving a total of dozens of food and dishes.So choose to "content" of research perspective to the study of the "San Yaotai",through the whole banquet in the "content" : "tea","pigs" and "rice" parse and render out true Gelao culture and San Yaotai,the reasons for this kind of "San Yaotai" is analyzed on the relationship with the local ecological environment and Gelao culture relationship.The main contents of this paper are as following.The first chapter is a general introduction,which explains the reason of the topic selection,introduces the research significance,and analyses to what extent the current relevant study has gone,with the research methods and the introduction of the field spot presented as well.Chapter two mainly describes the process of the “San Yaotai” as a banquet,showing how these processes are operated in specific situations through a real case.Chapter three focuses on the chronic changes of the “San Yaotai”,presenting how the changes on dishes served took place from less to more,simple to complex by tracing the core objects.Chapter four unveils the relationship between the particular “objects” and the local ecological environment,based on the analysis of “objects”.Furthermore,the background culture is revealed by the combination food.This background culture is the continuation of "objects" and the promotion of cultural significance based on the local ecological characteristics and historical interaction.Chapter five demonstrates the connection between “San Yaotai” and the culture of Gelao community.It is mainly analyzed that “San Yaotai” contains the elements of interpersonal communication,gender division of labor,etiquette and the current functions in ethics,education and business in the gelao culture,and presents its cultural significance as the core of new cultural identity.
