In this paper,Guo Moruo's "Book of Songs" research results as the research object.Guo Moruo has made fruitful achievements in the study of the Book of Songs.In the process of the transition from traditional study of the Book of Songs to modern academic studies,Guo Moruo has far-reaching influence.Guo Moruo's contribution is embodied in the modern translation of the Book of Songs.Guo Moruo's Volume of Ears has the greatest influence on the modern translation of the Book of Songs.He selected forty love poems from the Book of Songs and translated them into modern poems by means of graceful translation.He recreated these poems to show his praise for love and his yearning for freedom.Guo Moruo's poems works are in the context of the new cultural trend of thought.Next,it not only retains the original theme of the Book of Songs,but also embodies the spirit of ideological emancipation.The basic theme of longing for and pursuing happiness can better reflect the era background of ideological emancipation through the creation of Volume of Ears.Through a comparative study of the contents of the editions of the Book of Songs,this paper discusses and explores the changes and causes of the changes in Guo Moruo's translation of poetry,and supplements and improves Guo Moruo's study of the Book of Songs.Secondly,in the study of social history,Guo Moruo regards the Book of Songs as historical material.By interpreting many poems in the Book of Songs,he demonstrates the social status quo in Shang and Zhou Dynasties with the method of historical materialism.In the course of this research,Guo Moruo completed the works of Ancient Chinese History Research and Bronze Age,and used the method of mutual evidence of poetry and history to reveal the real face of Shang and Zhou Dynasties.Due to the limitations of the times,the imperfection of the materials of the Book of Songs and the influence of Guo Moruo's personality,there are still some defects and problems in Guo Moruo's study of the Book of Songs,but it still has great guiding significance and academic value in the study of the modern and contemporary Book of Songs.
