Guo Moruo's Historical Studies From The Perspective Of Istorical Materialism

General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Congress celebrating the40 th anniversary of reform and opening-up affirmed the historical achievements made by the Communist Party of China in leading the people,and emphasized the importance of adhering to the theory and method of historical materialism in the new era.As one of the two theoretical achievements created by Marx,historical materialism clarifies the essence and general law of human development and is the scientific form of human historical development concept.Guo Moruo,as a pioneer of historical materialism in China,has made great achievements in historical research.Based on Guo Moruo's academic work "?Li Bai and Du Fu?",this paper reviews the pros and cons of the historical work " ? Li Bai and Du Fu ? ",summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of Guo Moruo's historical research from the perspective of historical materialism,and strives to provide some theoretical reference and reference for the development of Marxist historiography in the new era.The formation of Guo Moruo's historical materialism is not achieved overnight.The formation and improvement of Guo Moruo's historical materialism is closely related to the changes of Chinese society and the evolution of historical tasks.In the1920 s,in the torrent of the revolutionary movement,Guo Moruo accepted the historical materialism and realized three changes in his ideology,from pantheism to materialism,from individual liberation to class revolution,and from idolatry to people-oriented.In the period of the New Democratic Revolution,Guo Moruo perfected the theory of historical materialism guiding the study of Chinese history,highlighted the clue of taking the sum of production relations as the study of ancient history,took class attributes as the standpoint of criticizing historical figures,and took revolutionary struggle as the direction of historical research.After the victory of the New Democracy Revolution,with the transformation of China's historical task from the New Democracy Revolution to the socialist construction,Guo Moruo did not stop using historical materialism to guide the pace of Chinese historical research,but constantly improved his understanding of historical materialism and promoted thenew development of historical materialism in China.In a word,Guo Moruo's historical materialism thought keeps pace with the changes of society and times.?Li Bai and Du Fu? is a new paradigm of Guo Moruo's historical materialism.First of all,in terms of the narrative content of historiography,the book ?Li Bai and Du Fu? combs Li Bai,Du Fu and their relationship in a panoramic way.It not only deals with the life and economic situation of ?Li Bai and Du Fu?,but also discusses their philosophical thoughts.Secondly,as far as the method of historical research embodied in ?Li Bai and Du Fu?
