A Study On The Change Of Tibetan Religious Culture In Tanchang County

The cause of religious transformation is the focus of the increasingly prominent issue of Tanchang Tibetan religious culture change and disappearance.This paper,from the perspective of religious anthropology,explores the origin of religious culture,religious concepts and rituals of Tibetan in Tanchang.With the significant role of religion in maintaining the survival and development of the entire ethnic group recognized,this paper compares the life of vil agers before and after the time node of “The end of agricultural economy” and identifies the process and reasons of religious transformation.The following four aspects are discussed in this paper:First,the primitive Bon belief and the Longwang belief,the subject of Tibetan religious culture in Tanchang,set a fixed lifestyle and cultural interpretation system for the believers.People replied on religion to maintain their normal lives during the farming period.Secondly,from the perspective of the other,the overall thinking logic of local people in getting engaged in religious activities is identified by analysis from belief and ritual: villagers believed in religion to solve the current problems and guarantee safety and stability of life;religious rituals rooted in problems,started from “inviting god” and ended in extending gratitude to the god and solving the problems.Thirdly,the return visit research on investigating the status quo of Luren Villa ge reveals that vil agers still face financial difficulties.In spiritual life,the thirst for knowledge and education far outweighs the attention paid for religion.Their identity of the nationality has been continuously strengthened while expanding communicat io n with the outside.With the ever-changing problems in life,religious culture cannot meet people's needs.Fourthly,the process of religious cultural change is analyzed.With difficulties in local religious heritage,disappearing,simplifying and alienating of some religio us rituals,religion tends to solve new problems in change and adapt to the current life of believers.In this way,the cause for the change of Tibetan religious culture in Tanchang is as follows: Tibetan religious culture in Tanchang,which is issue-oriented with outstanding utilitarianism and practicality,is featured by and aiming at solving problems in life and maintaining life.Religion changes along with the change of problems.
