This paper uses the theory of religious dialogue to re-examine the relationship between Catholicism and Confucianism,Buddhism(Taoism)in the late Ming Dynasty, and points out that due to conflicting views of truth,Matteo Ricci can only proceed from his own standpoint, adopt an exclusive dialogue to the core concept of Buddhism(Taoism),which leads Buddhists to adopt the dialogue mode of exclusivity and defend themselves from the original intention of their own concepts. It can be seen that a single theory of religious dialogue can be applied to deal with the relationship between Catholicism and Buddhism in the late Ming Dynasty. However, driven by the purpose of missionary teaching,Matteo Ricci made a choice within Confucianism, adopted the mode of inclusive dialogue to the "heaven" and "God" of ancient Confucianism, and adopted the mode of exclusive dialogue to the "Taiji" of the Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming dynasties. This made the literati in the late Ming Dynasty present two different attitudes: Yang Tingyun was the representative of the religious literati in the late Ming Dynasty. On the basis of the careful comparative analysis of Catholicism and Confucianism,he found ideological resources from Catholicism, fundamentally reformed the concepts of "heaven" and "human nature" in Confucian traditional and promoted the development of Confucianism. The anti-religious literati affirmed the truth of "heaven","God" and "Taiji",which showed the complexity of the relationship between Catholicism and Confucianism in the late Ming Dynasty. It is proved that the single theory of religious dialogue is not suitable for dealing with the complex relationship between Catholicism and Chinese traditional Confucianism and Buddhism(Taoism)in the late Ming Dynasty, and the theory of religious dialogue has its own limitations.
