Research Of The Chinese Catchphrase Pattern "Bei Xx" From The Perspective Of The Memetic-adaptation Theory

In recent years,there is a “bei xx” structure appearing in the Chinese catchphrase pattern.Compared with the traditional “bei” structure,the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” is special not only in its form but in its meaning.It is a complex language phenomenon,undoubtedly,involving a variety of linguistic and non-linguistic factors in its production process.With the improvement of the use of this special structure,the process of its production and interpretation have been thoroughly researched.The present thesis,under the guidance of the Memetics and Adaptation theory,established a Memetic-adaptation model creatively,which are hired to make a comprehensive illustration of the process of the production and interpretation of the catchphrase pattern “bei xx”.Subsequently,the communicative effect of this special structure was presented.Some findings were made on the basis of the qualitative analysis,which took some materials with the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” on the Internet as the data.Firstly,it was the choice-making of language that resulted in the production of the the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” in order to realize or approach the communicative goals.The reason why this structure can be chosen was that language has variability,negotiability and adaptability.In addition,in the process of choice-making,the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” adapted to the context and structural objects,which showed the dynamics of the adaptation and achieved the purpose to make a salience of the utterance.Secondly,the reason why the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” can make a living was that the continuous choice turned it into a meme and thereafter,it got the continuous replication and transmission from one host to another,thus,being a strong meme survived in the adaptation.Thirdly,the catchphrase pattern “bei xx” was valued highly by the public for with creativity and productivity,this structure can not only capture attention in a variety of occasions with concise and comprehensive words but reveal the authentic fact of the unfair matters as well as expressing the attitude of the language users,which was also the communicative effect of this structure.In the end,corresponding to the limitations of the present thesis,the author put forward some suggestions,hoping can make an enlightenment for the future study.
