Study Of Textual Criticism On Mencius In The Early Qing Dynasty

The study of mencius summarized the achievements of previous dynasties and produced a large number of classical works in the qing daynasty comprehensively.According to the rough calculation,there are more than one thousand kinds of mencius related works in the qing dynasty,surpassed the sum of the previous dynasties.the Ming and qing dynasties in the context.the promotion of sinology and the payment to classics,the study of mencius in the three dynasties of the qing dynasty,named shunzhi,kangxi and yongzheng,appeared a new look.Textual research is a prominent feature of mencius in the qing dynasty early.Schloars have focused on the textual research achievements of the qianjia period for a long time.but few of them have studied the textual research works about the three dynasties in the early qing dynasty.The number,content and methods of textual research of mencius in the early period were sorted outand systematically and the objective evaluation was given,that has the value of reference for the whole study of mencius.The textual research of mencius in early qing dynasty can be analyzed into two perspectives: the textual research of mencius himself and the textual research of mencius.Textual research on mencius focuses on the birth and death years,disciple gatekeeper,travel legend three aspects;"Textual research on the book of mencius" focusing on six aspects: text,phonetic meaning,historical facts,geographical evolution,laws and regulations,loose sentences and loose articles,and the collection of classics.Influential scholars are: Wang fuzhi,Yan ruoju,Mao Qiling.In addition,there are some achievements in jiang fengong's mencius miscellaneous,tang guangkui's preparation for the general Canon of the four books,hu lun's compilation of the system of the four books,wan sitong's dialectical study of the group classics,etc.This paper is probed into the textual research of mencius in the early qing dynasty from four parts: the introduction to summarize the research purpose and significance,research status and prospects,research ideas and methods;The first chapter is an overview of the basic situation of mencius in the early qing dynasty.It introduces the historical background and the change of academic fashion in the early qing dynasty briefly.From the perspective of edition bibliography,it introduces the author,edition and collection of mencius in the early qing dynasty.The second chapter is an introduction to the textual research of mencius in the early qing dynasty.The third chapter discusses the textual criticism of mencius in the early qing dynasty,and evaluates the characteristics and shortcomings of the textual criticism of mencius objectively in this period.
