Third tone sandhi is an important linguistic phenomenon in Chinese.The Third tone sandhi of Double-syllable Words is a tonal change with strong complexity.Even for Chinese native speakers,it is difficult to fully comply with the standard due to the degree of understanding of the sandhi rules and the influence of personal pronunciation habits in the pronunciation process of words.However,for foreign students who are not native speakers of Chinese language,the acquisition of third tone sandhi is even more difficult,due to the lack of mastery,which leads to the phenomenon of “foreign tone” that we often say.Therefore,it is also considered to be one of the difficulties in studying Chinese for foreign students.In view of the fact that the research on tone at the current stage is mostly the study of static tones,there is not much research on the sandhi,and the research on the third tone sandhi of Mongolian students in the primary stage is rare.Therefore,this paper focuses on the language phenomenon of the third tone sandhi of Mongolian students studying in the initial stage.This paper refers to the research method of experimental phonetics,for the primary stage of Mongolian students from the Erenhot International College of Inner Mongolia Normal University,the auditory perception test and acoustic experiment were carried out on two aspects:single-word and double-syllable words.In the auditory perception test part,this paper summarizes the difficulty level of ten subjects’ perception of single-character tone,and also summarizes the types of errors and the difficulty of perception.In the acoustic experimental research part,under the premise of ensuring that the subjects have a higher accuracy rate of the four tones perception of Chinese,this paper continues to collect,analyze and summarizethe pronunciation samples of the single-word and double-syllable words combination of ten Mongolian students.Through auditory perception test and acoustic experimental research,it is found that the Mongolian students in the primary stage of Erenhot International College can better distinguish four tones,but there are different degrees of deviation from the perception of second tone.From the tone value of the adjustment,the value of first tone is not high enough.The tone front of third tone is too high,and the tone rear of forth tone is not low enough.From the tone shape of the adjustment,there is an error phenomenon that the second tone is turned into a tortuous tone.In the sandhi of double-syllable words,there is a phenomenon that they can’t perceive correctly the former word is changed to second tone and the former word is changed to half third tone.From the tone value of the adjustment,there are different degrees of fluctuations in the adjustment,although the former words have changed their tone,but There are different degrees of deviation.From the tone shape of the adjustment,there is an error phenomenon in which the former word should be adjusted to a tortuous tone,and it is impossible to distinguish between two types of sandhi combinations involving soft tone.Foreign students are affected by the negative transfer of their mother tongue in the process of learning third tone sandhi.In addition,the Chinese sandhi itself has strong complexity,and it is easy for foreign students to produce errors.For the Mongolian international students of Erenhot International College,due to their own factors,neglecting the acquisition of the third tone sandhi,lack of effective listening and speaking exercises,leading to further deepening of the phenomenon of errors.Although the teachers of Erenhot International College adopted an effective teaching method,the initial and meticulous mechanical simulation of the training was not conducive to the later study of the sandhi,and the lack of pertinence in the selection of teaching materials by teachers also triggered Mongolian students learn the errors in the third tone sandhi.Therefore,teachers should select relevant textbooks on the premise of paying attention to students’ acquisitions,and not only stick to traditional teaching methods,but also pay attention to the improvement of teaching methods to better help students.Master the third tone sandhi and reduce the "foreign tone" pronunciation problem of foreign students.
