Tone is the characteristic and symbol of Chinese,but it has always been the difficulty for foreign students to learn,and the third tone sandhi is the difficulty of Chinese tone difficulty.In recent years,more and more Pakistani students choose to study in China,but Urdu,the national language of Pakistan,is a tone-free language,which undoubtedly has an impact on Pakistani students' mastery of the third tone sandhi.At present,there have been some achievements in the study of the pronunciation of Pakistani students,but there are few articles on the third tone sandhi of Pakistani students.This paper adopts the research method of experimental phonetics,analyzes the tone types and values of monosyllabic tone of four tones,two-syllabic and tri-syllabic words of the third tone sandhi of Pakistani students,and compared with the Chinese pronouncers,then investigate their error.Through this study,it is found that there is no problem in Pakistani students' pronunciation of monosyllabic tone of four tones.In the combination of two-syllabic words of the third tone sandhi,no matter it is “the third tone + the third tone” or “the third tone + the un-third tone”,Pakistani students will make the third tone that should change into the first tone.Among them,“the third tone + the third tone(the un-light tone)” and “the third tone[35] + the third tone(changed to the light tone)” both of their first word should be changed to the second tone.But some students' tone value can not rise,some students even changed to the first tone or [21].The pronunciation of “the third tone[21] + the third tone(changed to the light tone)” is better.The tone value of the first word of “the third tone + the un-third tone” should be changed to [21].Although some students changed to [31] or [42],the tone type is similar and it does not affect hearing.In the combination of tri-syllabic words of the third tone sandhi,Most students have not mastered the rules of the third tone sandhi,and their pronunciation depends entirely on their feeelings.Based on the above experimental analysis and the author's investigation,it is found that Pakistani students do not know the rules of the third tone sandhi very well.Therefore,combined with the relevant teaching theories and methods,this paper puts forward the corresponding teaching design: Firstly,the knowledge of the third tone sandhi is explained systematically.Then through games,tongue twisters,students draw the tone value figure by themselves and other ways to practice the relevant knowledge many times.At the same time,use praat as a tool of assist teaching.and finally,the teaching content is summarized with micro-class.After class,the teaching was evaluated by means of test and questionnaire.As a whole,the feedback of students is good,and the teaching objectives are basically completed.
