Wushu terminology is a specialized vocabulary unit that expresses the basic theoretical system of Wushu and technical concept terms in the field of Wushu.Under the background of Wushu internationalization, proper Wushu terminology translation is not only the premise of Wushu promotion, but also the need of Wushu cultural exchange. As one of the most powerful and most developed Wushu,Taijiquan is also one of the most extensive sports in the internationalization of Wushu. Therefore, this article will use the English translation of Taijiquan terminology as a specific example for related research.Medio translatology is a kind of research on the culture of translation. Therefore, the study of Wushu translation from the perspective of translation and communication is the study of culture in Wushu translation. When I study the translation of Taijiquan terminology from the perspective of translation and communication,I find that there is often a cultural default phenomenon in translation, that is,the cultural background information in the term is ignored in the translation process.Because the East and West cultures are very different, the cultural defaults in translation may lead to misunderstandings or interpretation obstacles in the target language readers. Therefore, this paper focuses on several problems in Taijiquan translation, focusing on the expressions of cultural default phenomena in translation, and using different translation methods to compensate for missing cultural information. This study is divided into four parts: the introduction, the cultural characteristics of Wushu and its terminology, and the cultural default and conclusion of Taijiquan terminology translation from the perspective of Medio translatology.Through the methods of literature, interviews and logic analysis, the author grasps the research situation of Wushu terminology translation and taijiquan terminology translation, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this field research, and finds the foothold of this research.Because this article is a study of Wushu term translation under the guidance of translation theory, the cultural characteristics of Wushu and itsterminology are explained. As a boxing martial art school,Taijiquan is a rapidly developing and widely spread boxing term. Its terminology also has its own unique cultural characteristics, namely,Chinese classical philosophical characteristics, traditional Chinese medicine characteristics, religious characteristics, aesthetic characteristics, etc. These cultural characteristics are all Chinese. The essence of traditional culture. However, after analyzing and analyzing several versions of Taijiquan translation,it is found that the current translation of Taijiquan terminology still has some shortcomings, which are manifested in the following aspects: different translations of the same words,Chinese-speaking English,common-sounding translation and cultural deficiency.Province, where cultural default is the most common phenomenon.According to Nida's classification theory of cultural elements in translation, the study shows that the cultural default expressions in Taijiquan terminology translation are as follows: ecological culture default;material culture default;social cultural default;religious culture lack Province;language culture default.Using the theory of translation and communication, combined with the expressions of cultural default phenomena, the author analyzes the causes of cultural default phenomena from the aspects of primitive texts, translators, target readers, and translation methods: the original author unconsciously ignores cultural information and translates The method is single, the translator has insufficient understanding of the cultural information of the target language, and the translation rules are not uniform. In view of several manifestations of cultural defaults in Taijiquan terminology translation, the following solutions are proposed: improving translation methods, strengthening cultural learning of target language and primitives, and unifying translation principles. Some of the terms of Chen Style 56 Taijiquan were re-translated through the cultural default compensation translation method(see Appendix 1).It is expected to provide a new perspective for the study of Wushu terminology,to achieve cultural default compensation,in order to promote the cross-cultural communication of Wushu, and also hope to provide reference for the translation of other sports terms.
