A Report On The Translation Of Letter Of Intent About Planning For Water Supply Pipelines From The Perspective Of Text Analysis Model

Nowadays,the development of science and technology around the world cannot be separated from the cooperation and exchanges among countries.Universities,as a valuable and cutting-edged platform for scientific researches and academic exchanges,are increasingly involved in international exchanges.A letter of intent is an important reference for projects' tendering and approval,which is particularly crucial for the project review,the fund application,the establishment of cooperation and the investment attraction.When participating in international cooperation projects,colleges and universities need to get their projects approved after the experts' evaluation,during which an English-version of the letter of intent is a powerful tool to promote the implementation of China-foreign cooperation in a project.To sum up,the translation of the letter of intent is particularly important for the foreign experts in related fields to review the project and the successful cooperation among the parties of the project.This translation practice report is based on the author's translation of Letter of Intent of Planning for Water Supply Pipelines and Consulting Services for Inspection and Training in Kuitun,and is unfolded from the following four parts.The first part is the translation task description,introducing the background and requirements,significance of the translation and text type.The second part introduces the process of translation,including pre-translation preparation,translation and post-translation revision and review.The third part is the main body,which first introduces the text analysis model and its guiding significance,and then selects specific cases from the translation to analyze the translation strategy from the perspectives of words,sentences and so on.The fourth part is a summary of the translation practice,which involves the theoretical significance and practical inspiration as well as the feelings and experiences of the author.At present,there are very few translation practice reports on letter of intents for project.The translation practice report,based on the theory of text analysis model,analyzes the translation of letter of intent for project,highlights the theoretical guiding significance of the text analysis model.Therefore,the author hopes to provide some reference and help for translators who are confronted with related types of translation tasks.
