The relationship between self-esteem and aggression has always been the hot issue of psychology. But the conclusions had differences. The traditional viewpoint is that individuals with low self-esteem behavior more aggressively. Some researchers found high self-esteem is closely related to aggression. The psychologists put forward heterogeneity assumption of high self-esteem to explain the reason for the inconsistent conclusions. They suggest that the individuals with high self-esteem whose self-evaluation is positive, have self-doubt.Facing ego threats, they will behavior more aggressively. This study examines fragile high self-esteem undergraduates' attention and memory bias for aggressive information,to explore the relationship between self-esteem and aggression.First of all,Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and Implicit Association Test are used to select fragile self-esteem undergraduates or the secure ones: the ones with high explicit self-esteem and high implicit self-esteem are divided into the secure group, and the others with high explicit self-esteem but low implicit self-esteem are the fragile high self-esteem group.Secondly, selecting dot-probe task to verify whether there is an attention bias for aggressive information in fragile high self-esteem undergraduates. Also we investigate whether the fragile high self-esteem group have selective memory for aggressive information.Subsequently,we explore whether there is a consistent relationship between aggressive attention bias and memory bias. Finally, through attention training, making fragile high self-esteem undergraduates orient away from aggressive information, studying the effect on their memory bias,we explore whether there is a causal relationship between the attention bias and memory bias.Pointing the conclusions of the present study :(1)The fragile high self-esteem undergraduates have attention bias for aggressive information.(2)The fragile high self-esteem undergraduates have memory bias for aggressive information.(3)Attention training can make the fragile high self-esteem undergraduates orient away from aggressive information.(4)There is a causal relationship between attention bias and memory bias for aggressive information.
