In recent years, with the deepening of the research on self-esteem, a growing number ofstudies found that, not all high self-esteem individuals have good adaptability. Gradually,people found that, self-esteem not only have high or low self-esteem, high self-esteem maycontain other subtypes. High self-esteem heterogeneity assumption considers that, Highself-esteem can be divided into many subtypes, the properties of high self-esteem is not single.Many contemporary scholars divide high self-esteem into fragile type high self-esteem andsecure high self-esteem. Many researchers have made the comparison and analysis fromdifferent angles on the type of discrepant high self-esteem and the measuring method. Atpresent, the research of high self-esteem heterogeneity mainly concentrated in the mentalhealth and personality disorder, etc., the cognitive mechanism study of subjects is relativelyless. This research investigated the different types of high self-esteem of college students’cognitive processing preferences of human evaluation information and its mechanism fromthe angle of the attention.This research made the distinction of high self-esteem from the angle of the consistencyof implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem, defined high explicit self-esteem and lowimplicit self-esteem as high self-esteem fragile type, defined high explicit and implicitself-esteem as a secure high self-esteem. This research has three study, The first and secondstudy is to explore the fragile self-esteem students’ attention bias characteristics oninterpersonal evaluation information and the personal of assessment information by usingemotion Stroop task; The third study is to investigate its mechanism by space clues task.The results showed that:(1)both interpersonal assessment information and personal ofassessment information, two types of self-esteem individuals both have attention bias to thenegative information, but only on the negative valence interpersonal assessment information,Fragile type high self-esteem individuals show more attention bias than secure highself-esteem individuals;(2)the fragile type high self-esteem individuals’ internal ofmechanism of attention bias to interpersonal assessment information t is Relief difficult, notpay attention to the alert.
