A Study On The Cultural Relations Of The Frontier Nationalities In Yunnan During The Period Of The Republic Of China

From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,Yunnan was attracted more and more attention by the West for its close ties with the british and French colonies,Burma and Vietnam.If Burma was conquered,the west of Yunnan will be in danger,and if Vietnam was defeated,the south of Yunnan will also be occupied.As China has been involved in the new system of modern international political order,the frontier ethnic areas of Yunnan from China’s southwest of the frontier defense center into an advance position against foreign invasions.Under the catalysis of the national crisis,the Yunnan ethnic minority areas of the original religious culture,education and culture,traditional ethnic folk culture is conducive to the factors of state-making are activated.During this period,the process of the transformation of national consciousness and national consciousness of the ethnic minorities in Yunnan,and the factors that contributed to the change of the national consciousness is a content which is worth pondering.This paper consists of five chapters,the first chapter introduces the background of the Yunnan border national culture in the Republic of China,and the fifth chapter summarizes and analyzes the characteristics,functions and limitations of the national cultural relations and national integration in the border areas of Yunnan.In addition to the first chapter and the fifth chapter,the second chapter,the third chapter and the fourth chapter are the focus of the full text.This three chapters mainly begin with education,religion and folklore in the cultural factors of ethnic groups in the border areas of Yunnan during the period of the Republic of China,investigates the national culture within a specific period of time in different regions of Yunnan,and then links the various cultural relations and the macroscopic historical process of the Republic of China,reveals the historical significance of the national culture.This paper guided by the overall perspective and based on historical facts,and try to make a comprehensive and detailed analysis for the ethnic cultural relations of Yunnan border areas,which including religious culture,educational culture and folk culture.On this basis,under the view of national integration,some characteristics of Yunnan ethnic cultural relations during the Republic of China are analyzed,and the cultural genes which are conducive to enhancing national identity and bringing together national forces are discussed.
