The purpose of this thesis is to study the philosophical thoughts of Teacher Said Mencius. The introduction part summarizes the birth and the edition of the.book,as well as previous research achievements of Teacher Said Mencius. It pays special attention to the two important questions,"whether Huang Zongxi’s Teacher Said Mencius inherited his teacher’s thoughts",and "whether Teacher Said Mencius fit the meaning of Mencius".These two questions are the main lines of the article.Chapter two, three and four are the cores of the thesis, which separately discussed the Li-Qi Theory, the theory of mind and the Gong-Fu theory of the Teacher Said Mencius. The analysis shows that Huang Zongxi’s Li,Qi,Xin and Xing have an inner unity. He emphasized the "practical works based on reality",and "expansion works through self-cultivation".Chapter two is the Li-Qi Theory.Section one summarizes the Li-Qi Theory of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties. This section includes the theory of Zhang Zai,Cheng-Zhu’s Confucianism, and the theory of Qi in the middle of the Ming Dynasty.Section two introduces the theory of Huang Zongxi’s Li-Qi Theory at the beginning. Then we make a concrete analysis of "one thing has two names" of Huang Zongxi’s Li-Qi Theory.Section three summarizes Huang Zongxi’s inheritance of his teacher’s Li-Qi Theory.Through the research of chapter two,the origin and theoretical characteristics of Huang Zongxi’s Li-Qi Theory are deeply grasped. And we get the conclusion that Teacher Said Mencius had inherited the theory of his teacher’s Li-Qi Theory.Chapter three is the theory of mind.Section one interprets the "one thing has two names" of Huang Zongxi’s "Mind".Section two makes special discussions of the theory of mind.Section three discusses the relationship between the Li-Qi Theory and the theory of mind.Through the research of chapter three,we have an in-depth study of Huang Zongxi’s "Mind",and found that his Li-Qi Theory and the theory of mind have an inner unity. Finally we come to a conclusion that the theory of mind embodied in Huang’s Teacher Said Mencius is fitter in the original meaning of Mencius.Chapter four is the Gong-Fu Theory.Section three explains the practical works based on reality, which points out that the works need to be embodied in the actual practice.Section two discusses the importance of the works of preservation and expansion, which points out the importance of sincerity and the works of self-preservation.Section three discusses whether Huang Zongxi’s inherited his teacher Liu Jishan’s Gong-Fu Theory, and makes a comparative between them.Through the discussion of the Gong-Fu Theory in the Teacher Said Mencius,we draw the conclusion that the focuses of Huang Zongxi and his teacher are different, and Huang was more emphasis on "practical works based on reality".The conclusion part summarizes the clues at the beginning of the thesis.Section one expounds that Teacher Said Mencius is the deepening research of the Mencius.Although there are some differences between Teacher Said Mencius and Mencius,it is certainly that the theory of mind embodied in Huang’s Teacher Said Mencius is fitter in the original meaning of Mencius than Zhu Xi.At the same time,it indicates that the theory embodied in Huang Zongxi’s Teacher Said Mencius is the inheritance of his teacher, and points out that the differences between the two philosophers as well.Liu Jishan paid more attention on cautiousness("Shen Du"),and Huang Zongxi was more focus on the practice.Section two expounds the significances of Teacher Said Mencius on the academic turn in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. On the one hand,Huang Zongxi cleaned up the academic environment of the past Li-Qi Theory. On the other hand,he advocated the spirit of "Jing Shi Zhi Yong".
