Study On The Thought Of "Pragmatics" By Zongxi Huang

In Song and Ming dynasty,especially the period of late Ming and early Qing,the fall of the central government,scholars put all work into the process of cultivating oneself,just talking about the nature of mind,so the study of practice was setted aside.As one of great Confucianism in the end of Ming and early Qing,Huang Zongyi always had a mind like original all Confucius to pursue achievements,to experience all things and to help the ordinary.What's more,he attended the political practice in late Ming and the military combat against Qing for Ming in person.Moreover,he took part in the rethinking and criticism for Confucianism in Song and Ming.After personal participation,objective observation,extensive rethinking,he pointed out the faults of political law and mind.Additionally,he linked the nature of mind with achievements,committing to general philosophy and people-oriented mind by distinctive Wang Yangming's thought.Therefore,he created a boom for “utilitarian” which required the combination of the nature of mind and achievements----both the “cultivation of oneself” and “practice”.The historical influence of Huang Zongyi's “utilitarian” mainly indicates the two aspects.Firstly,the correction of the faults of Wang Yangming's thought,Huang Zongyi's “utilitarian”has made a huge shock to the study of mind nature in late Ming and early Qing with a major expression that is the critical of the useless of the study of nature mind and the partisans of nature mind in late Ming and early Qing.Secondly,Huang Zongyi's “utilitarian” has realized the back and surpass of original Confucianism and Wang Yangming's thought,which was the great trend of philosophy at that time and social mind.
