The Spatial Narration Of Xu Xiaobin's Novels

The spatial narratology are employed in this study,to discuss the characteristics of narrative space in the novel and its creative process.Xu Xiaobin is one of the representative writers of “feminist writing” in 1990 s,she is good at describing a fictional world with a treacherous imagination,which express a distinctive feature of spatial.Scholars also use words such as "garden","maze" and "language polar" to describe their works.However,most scholars have only carried the space characteristics of Xu Xiaobin's novels,and no one has systematically analyzed this.The purpose of this dissertation is to provide a new idea and perspective for the study of Xu Xiaobin's works,so that the artist Xu Xiaobin's artistic exploration in space narrative can be known.The narrative space of the novel is not an real space,but a space represented by the medium of words.It is an imaginary space compromises the soul of creator and the object space,and is a space reconstructed according to the writer's personal experience.In artistic technique,it indicated in the breakage of the linear narrative,and the use of film technique,or the utilize of perspectives.In the content of the novel,It reflects in writer's exploration of the relationship between human and spiritual space,natural space and social space.The full text adopts a parallel structure for discussion.The first part analyze the text space.According to Gabriel Zollon's view on the construction of the text space,it discusses the structure of Xu Xiaobin's novels,the technique and the use of perspectives.The second part starts with the mind space,analyzes the space imagery such as shells,drawers,and mirror space in the novel,and analyze the source of creation of the soul space.The third part starts with the topography space,sorts out and analyzes several types of the topography space in Xu Xiaobin's novels,and explores the utopian themes contained in the topography space.
