A Study On Xunzi's Thought Of "Integration" Based On Rites

In the late warring States period,in the face of a more serious situation than that of Confucius,Xunzi did not adopt the academic path of creating the moral personality of people in the early days of the school of thought and Mencius,but took the ritual as the core program of his thought system.Through the culture of rites,the construction of institutionalization,strengthening the norms of ritual,seeking to establish a more binding social rules and order,and finally realize the unification of the world.Xunzi thought that each of the hundred schools of thought had its own emphasis,each had a "partial","covered",which was reasonable,but not comprehensive.He wanted to build a set of Confucian ideas as the center.And draw on the relative integrity of the various rational ideas of the ideological system to integrate the various ideas.Therefore,in Xunzi's ideological system,it can be seen that Xunzi was influenced by Taoism,Legalists,famous schools,Mohism and so on,and at the same time adhered to the standpoint and purpose of Confucianism.Xunzi used "Li" as the guiding principle of social order.He tried to reestablish the authority and standardization of propriety and serve for the establishment of stable and unified social order.In this paper,by means of "the theory of distinguishing names and facts" and "the use of the system of Heaven and Man in the Rites",The four parts of "the edification of the Rites' temperament" and "the Theory of governing the State by the Rites" explain the theoretical characteristics of Xunzi's ideological system constructed by using the ritual as the integrated program.As well as the individual moral realization and the social order standardization construction unifies the theoretical purpose.At the same time,it is also emphasized that Xunzi has always adhered to the ideological stand and purpose of Confucianism,and has not deviated from the ideological purpose of Confucian "character,knowledge,sincerity,integrity,self-cultivation,governing the country,and leveling the world" for the purpose of learning to cultivate oneself and to govern the country in a unified way.So Xunzi is a true Confucian.
