As a major country in the world,China is developing at an impressive speed.Various kinds of industries are booming.Among them,the media industry stands out in recent years.With the empowerment of the Internet,social media generates lots of shows on different platforms such as i QIYI,Tencent and Sina.Some of these shows have become popular globally.However,this may pose difficulties for interpreters in the media industry.In this report an episode of an Internet show Shisan Yao(Thirteen Invitations)is interpreted to discus the C-E interpreting difficulties and solutions based on the Schema Theory.This report has four parts.The first chapter gives a general introduction of the video involved and the speakers.It also introduces the definition of Schema Theory,classification of Schema Theory and related research on Schema Theory which underpins this report and governs the strategies chosen in the following parts.The second chapter summarizes the major difficulties the author has encountered in interpreting the video.The difficulties are divided into five categories: culture-loaded expressions,terminology in mass media,pronoun confusion,the speakers' self-correction and other difficulties.The third chapter offers four interpreting strategies to tackle the difficulties.These strategies are free translation,literal translation plus explanation,omission and conversion.Each strategy offered is exemplified.The last chapter is the conclusion containing the author's reflections of and the limitations of this report.
