Research On The Image Construction Of Female Journalists In American Films

This paper studies the image of female journalists in American films,aiming to construct the image of female journalists through film observation since the 1930s.This thesis is time nodes with three wave of feminism,in the process of the development of feminism in the United States on film women journalists the impact of the image,at the same time,the female journalists,media,film on the shape of the media people's history with the United States also has certain interaction.Therefore,the paper carding node in different time on the image of the female journalists,sum up the image characteristics and the causes of these practitioners,and tries to find the relationship between the social dynamics and image construction.The article adopts the method of text analysis research,selecting 30 films involve the female journalists as the research sample,the film text analysis and rheological analysis of longitudinal,induces the film presents the characteristics of the female journalists.The sample selected 30 films from the 1930s to the present,based on the extension of the time line,and observed the evolution of the image of female journalists in the film medium.Study found that 30-50 s of the 20th century women journalists is in the image of the patriarchal values scrutiny,as ornamental objects exist in movie screen,Characters are prone to emotional entanglements with male characters,do not have professional quality;In the 1960s and 1980s,the female journalists in the films appeared in the films,and the female journalists began to express the spirit of journalistic professionalism,but remained confined to the scrutiny of the patriarchal values.Since the 1990s,female journalists have diversified their image and have more personal and journalistic ethics.They also show weakness in the field of journalism.Throughout the decades of American journalism,the image of female journalists develops from a single "female" image to a multi-dimensional professional image,and the change of image follows the two main lines of feminism and the development of American journalism.As a mirror,the film not only records and witnesses the social reality,but also integrates the emotion of a society in a film.The change of female journalists' image reflects the historical vicissitude of the development of American journalism and feminism.So the two are symbiotic.
