Research On The Application Of Postmodern Art Creation Method In My Sculpture Works

The destination of this research is to investigate the practice and exploration of the creation method in sculpture art,including various directions,such as new material attempts,new media attempts,new intermediary attempts,and new expressions of language,etc.Postmodern art has many different schools,at the same time,a large number of artistic creation methods have been composed,making innovation in both thinking and form.Postmodern art has a profound impact on contemporary art,and the concept of sculpture art,due to this impact,has gained further expansion and development in multi-dimensional directions.The postmodern art creation methods involved in my sculpture works are replacement,approximation,specificity,intensiveness,appropriation,simplicity,multimedia,light and image,metaphor and so on.Replacement is to divide and change the combined relationship of the integrate things and the cohesive property of the coexisting matters.Approximation is the constitutive result of two or more objects-they are roughly the same in shape,but also exist significant differences.Specificity is to add an object of disharmony in a number of coordinating things the law,to break the organized being but still live in it.Intensiveness is to use orderly or disorderly approaches to centralize a large number of similar or disparate objects.Intensiveness contains two kinds of performance methods,namely order and repetition.Appropriation,that is,to move something away or take it,using the space changes around the object to reshape the existing significance and value judgment expressed by appropriated object,while to affect the cognitive experience of the new space around.The artistic expression of multimedia art works mainly depends on the electronic media;it can maximize the artistic imagination.Simplicity refers to the simple and concise style in works' creation language and form.Metaphor is the perception,experience,imagination,understanding,and discussing of the psychological behavior,linguistic behavior,and cultural behavior in “these” objects,under the implication of “those” objects.Presenting in a simple way,it can lead people's thinking about the relevant beings.Also it gives people a feeling of clearness and conciseness.Light and image is the use of light and image and other special media for artistic creation.My sculpture installation “Ignorance” applies the creation methods of replacement,specificity and order;the sculptural installation"Communication-Four Spaces" applies the creation methods of approximation,simplicity,light and image,and metaphor;installation works "YES YES YES No.1”applies the creation methods of repetition,appropriation,light and image,and metaphor;VR work" YES YES YES No.2 " applies the creation methods of repetition,multimedia and metaphor.In the practice of these creative methods,I try to use different media to present my artistic thinking in a variety of ways,neither praise nor debasement,in the hope of conveying my feelings and understanding toward life and living.
