A Report On The Translation Of GLOBE: A Twenty-year Journey Into The Intriguing World Of Culture And Leadership

Advancement of multi-national business and development of globalization contribute to the era of globalization greatly,while global leadership has procured greater attraction to the public.The case being,the value of translation in leadership sciencehas been further recognized,which brings about another climax for global leadership translation.This report is mainly about the translation practice of GLOBE: A twenty-year journey in the intriguing world of culture and leadership under the guidance of Steiner ‘s Hermeneutic moves,the articlewas extracted from the Journal of World Business,Volume 47,2012.The article,written by Robert House and some other experts,with the GLOBE research and its data as foundation,demonstrates facts about how cultural elements and dimensions affect effective leadership.This article,which has fully described GLO BE in different phrases,specially analyzed data and scales of CLT,bears great value for translation and introductionto leadership science.Authorized by Guangdong Youth Vocational College,the target texts will later contribute to the textbook Understanding Leadership Theories and Application(?????????????),for the purpose of enriching leadership science domestically.This report is organized in five sections,which are Task Description,Process Preparation,Theoretical Frame,Case Analysis and Conclusion.Firstly,brief introduction to the translation task is carried out and then five preparation stages are involved in Chapter 2.In the third part,it presents Hermeneutics as the theoretical guide and its application amo ng previous researches.Translation strategies from the perspective of Hermeneutics are mentioned as well.When it comes to the fourth chapter,it includes major difficulties encountered in translation process and analysis along with three translation strategies--Division,Conversion and Addition.Lastly,at the end of this report,a summary of whole and limitations are stated.O verall,this report summarizes the translation task in a systematical manner.It not only analyzes the applied strategies but also reveals limitation of the translation practice.Meanwhile,it is expected that this report can both share some enlightenments on leadership science and contribute certain reference value to the construction and development in the course of leadership science.
