The national opera Canal Ballad,launched by the National Centre for the Performing Arts in 2012,has received widespread acclaim since its debut,and is regarded as a milestone in the history of national opera's development.Shui Honglian is both the heroine of the play and the soul of the whole play.The process of her image change is not only an important clue to the development of the whole drama,but also a spokesperson for the aesthetic pursuit of the whole drama.Through the shaping of her,the Chinese working people in the long history are mapped to the industrious,kind,intelligent and courageous.They fight for spiritual quality and unremitting pursuit and they are yearning for great love,great righteousness,and great goodness.This paper analyzes its image shaping through three chapters.The first chapter of the opera's background briefly introduces the storyline of the national opera Canal Ballad.The second chapter combines the opera Canal Ballad,Qin Sheng,are you okay?and Come to life to love you,The three paragraphs analyze and summarize the image characteristics of Shui Honglian's ordinary,kind-hearted and self-satisfied.At the same time,singing is the most important method for shaping the characters of opera.After summarizing the image characteristics and aesthetic characteristics of Shui Honglian,it is to think and explore how to shape the image through singing.The third chapter is about the aesthetic characteristics of Shui Honglian image,which has the aesthetic characteristics of authenticity,nationality and tragicity.Through the analysis of its image shaping,we can gain a deeper understanding of the whole drama,and useful inspiration and reference for appreciation and singing of the drama,and also lay a better foundation for me to re-interpret the opera in the future.
