| The constituent elements of a phrase are words, and the words are composed of characters. The structure and composition of these three factors are important parts of linguistics.Words and phrases are more conspicuous,so there are many discussions about their classification, meaning, structure and so on.As for the characters, they are in a more obscure position.Because they need to be placed in sentences in linguistic analysis, the analysis of Tibetan characters is relatively deficient. When observing a language,it is necessary to make a comprehensive observation of all the components. When studying characters, there are different results from different research perspectives in linguistics.Starting from the character itself, form, phonemic and meaning are the three important components of a word."Sa" is one of the most frequently used letter in Tibetan literature. So,how much authority does the word"Sa" have in Tibetan? What functions does it have to trigger a "tide of protecting characters"?What sounds can be found diachronically and synchronically? These are the questions to be answered in this paper. The first chapter is the introduction to this article. This section mainly introduces two works closely related to the word "sa",namely, the Sa mthvi rnam dbye rab gsal sgron ma and Yi ge dag sdeb. And the contents and characteristics of these two books are introduced. In addition, using statistical methods, the importance of the use of the word "sa" in letters is demonstrated. The second chapter mainly discusses the use of the word "sa",the source and change of Tibetan, and the development. After eliciting the background of the word"sa",the analysis on "sa" was carried out using previous linguistic theories. After that,we found the different fonts of the word "sa" from the inscriptions and Dunhuang literature, and analyzed the changes in the fonts in different texts and historical eras,as well as the different positions in the Tibetan syllables. The third chapter discusses the pronunciation of "sa" from diachronic and synchronic perspectives. The pronunciation of "sa" in ancient Tibetan and current dialects was studied separately. At the same time, the pronunciation of "sa" in modern Tibetans was also studied, which roughly combed the process of phonetics change of"sa".In addition, using the pronunciation theory of modern linguistics,it explains why word "sa" in Tibetan does not appear before the base word "da/ma/va".At the same time,it points out that some people confused the pronunciation of word "sa"and vowel "i".The fourth chapter gives some explanations for the general meaning of "sa"and the meanings in different contexts. On this basis, the author finds that the superposition and post addition of the word "sa" have obvious functions, referred to as "two elements, four criteria and two causes".The "two elements" are the elements of morpheme and case, and the "four marks" are the moving mark, the dynamic mark, the past tense mark and the imperative mark."Two causes" means the nature and function of the variants. |
