As one of the Shanghai landscape painters,Wu Shixian has a certain impact of traditional Chinese literati painting in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.Wu Shixian lived in the declining period of traditional literati painting in the late Qing Dynasty,and received the impact of Western culture,be brave to innovate the traditional literati painting ciecle,His landscape painting has undergone three stages of development and perfection:early,middle and late,and each period plays a vital role in the formation of its artistic language.Wu Shixian Landscape Painting received the influence of Western painting concepts,and integrated Western aesthetic concepts in subject matter and techniques,reflected in the three aspects of the unique subject of evening show,watercolor halo dyeing techniques,focus composition.Wu Shixian went abroad to study Japanese painting in the East.from the aspects of composition and creation,embody the characteristics of Japanese "famous paintings" and new Japanese paintings,and reflect the free aesthetic interest advocated by Japanese art.The study of Wu Shixian's landscape painting provides information for the study of the transformation of traditional literati painting in the late Qing Dynasty,and hope to have some inspiration for the creation of modern landscape painting art.
