Journey to the West is a model of Chinese classical magical novels.Zhu Bajie was one of many classical images which created in this book.His birth and formation are affected on many aspects.The image of the pig is not original by the author.It was a gradual evolution of the pig-shaped goblins in literature,Pig-shaped monsters have been traced in mythology,legends of the Tang Dynasty."Zhu Bajie" in the remnants of Journey to the West leaves only a few words.The image of Zhu Bajie first appeared in the drama Journey to the West,in which he has the characteristic of high erotic sex power and strong magic power.Zhu Bajie in Journey to the West is an image of "three sexual unity"."Three sex" means animal nature,human nature and divinity.The animal nature of Zhu Bajie is mainly manifested in three aspects: big mouth greedy,laziness and lethargy,seeking ease and comfort.Human nature is mainly manifested through four aspects: lecherous heart is ceaseless,selfish and greedy for money,intelligence and honesty and hard work.The divinity is manifested mainly through the transvestites of Buddhism Culture and Marshal Tian Peng in Taoism Culture.Zhu Bajie is a character full of comedy,which is one of the big reasons why he’s so popular.The author describes the image of Zhu Bajie through detailed description of appearance,language,action and side foil to make it more full and vivid.The image of Zhu Bajie was influenced by the thoughts of Ming Dynasty’s psychology and humanism,and there are many human characteristics worth studying.The image of Zhu Bajie is still meaningful in today’s realistic society.
