From the end of the 1920 s onwards, there was a trend in Soviet literature towards the creation of novels based on the collectivisation of agriculture. In the course of more than seven decades of Soviet literary development, the creation of novels on the subject of collectivisation did not cease, but the works of fiction that appeared at different times differed greatly in terms of thematic ideas and artistic techniques, thus presenting a general characteristic of stages,a special literary phenomenon. The first stage, the first emergence of collectivized fiction, was in the late 1920 s and throughout the 1930 s,in parallel with the collectivization movement;the second stage was in the1950 s and 1960 s,in parallel with the ’thaw’ trend;and the third stage was in the 1970 s and 1980 s,in the midst of the wave of reform in Soviet literature. On the basis of an analysis of the general characteristics of the creation of collectivized novels in each period, this article summarizes the literary policies and criticism of the time, and,in the context of literary criticism, describes its evolution and development, explores the inner qualities of the works, summarizes the motives and laws of their artistic evolution, and explores their aesthetic value. This study will help to provide a clearer understanding of the development of the Soviet novel and provide some assistance to the study of Soviet literature.
