The Research On Synonyms Of Dunhuang Quzi Ci

Dunhuang Quzi Ci constitutes an important corpus for modern Chinese study.To study synonyms in Dunhuang Quzi Ci is of vital significance to study synonyms in modern Chinese.Revolving around analysis and research of synonyms in Dunhuang Quzi Ci,this paper consists of four sections.Section 1:Introduction.This section introduces the research status of Dunhuang Quzi Ci and synonyms,research methods of synonyms,and research background and significance of this paper.Section 2:Classified research into synonyms of Dunhuang Quzi Ci.A classified research is carried out of synonyms from the perspective of syllable,composition and word class.To be specific,from the perspective of syllable,the monosyllable lexicons are studied semantically.The development context of lexicology and different research groups are examined,proceeding from the relationship between Proceeding from the relationship between the original meaning and new meaning of lexicons.The polysyllabic lexicons are studied structurally,and findings suggest that major compositions of the modern Chinese lexicons include the associative form and the modifier-centered form.From the perspective of composition there are 49 pairs of two-component synonyms and 44 pairs of multi-component synonyms,which can well demonstrate the diversity of synonyms in Dunhuang Quzi Ci.As to the composition style,research indicates that there are 70 pairs of synonyms composed of polysyllabic lexicons,which is the most important composition of synonym pairs in Dunhuang Quzi Ci.This finding coincides with the bisyllablization of Chinese lexicons.From the perspective of word class,the synonyms,including nouns,verbs,adjectives,adverbs,are analyzed semantically,grammatically and pragmatically,respectively,at an attempt to reveal the "similarities" and subtle "differences" of synonyms.Section 3:Synonym characteristics of Dunhuang Quzi Ci and formation causes.This paper summarizes 98synonym groups in total,of which 15 are monosyllabic synonym groups,70 are polysyllabic synonym groups,and 8 are combination of monosyllabic synonym groups and polysyllabic synonym groups.The number of monosyllabic synonyms is smaller than that of polysyllabic synonyms.The number of polysyllabic synonyms has an absolute advantage in Dunhuang Quzi Ci.There are many Buddhist lexicons in Dunhuang Quzi Ci,which contain 11 synonym groups in total,which account for 11.83%of all synonym groups.additionally,formation causes of synonyms are investigated both externally and internally,and the causes can be generally summarized as below:The internal reason include generation of new lexicons and new meanings,inheritance of old lexicons disyllabification of Chinese;The external reasons include absorption of dialect words,borrowing of foreign words,applications of euphemisms,and different perspectives of object observation and cognition.
