At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries,with the structural adjustment of Chinese society politics economy,traditional China gradually had transformed into amodern civilized society.In the course of the millennial great change,social changeshave caused tremendous changes in social concepts,which have deeply affected every Chinese,especially the Chinese women who suffer from discrimination and oppression.The author took LING Shu-hua as the representative of the May 4th women writers as the research object,as well as discussed their survival status in the period of social drastic changes and the historical period of constant innovation of social concepts.The May 4th female writer was born at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries,which coincided with the transformation of Chinese society and the change of Chinese social concept.They mostly come from the Late Qing Dynasty aristocratic family,a good family,than the ordinary people have a better chance to accept advanced ideas.They are special era of social transition,and they are the product of the May fourth era,and they are under the influence of Change of social concepts,to be something quite different from the old aristocratic ladies locked in a house.The May 4th female writers represented by LING Shu-hua received not only traditional boudoir education but also modern westernization education.They pursue a successful career,with a new vision of the world around them;they become independent women nationals;they pursue free love,free marriage,equality of husband and wife;they socialize openly and network.In short,they have developed a strong sense of social participation.They represent the silent women who ha've been crouching at the center of history for more than two thousand years.Based on newspapers,periodicals,biographies and letters in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China,supplemented by memoirs,anthologies and other documents,this paper adopts the method of literature analysis and logical induction to discuss the concept of women's education in modern Chinese society,women's rights,marriage and female public social concepts such as social changes,the impact on the women writersof the republic of China to grow and thrive.Taking LING Shu-hua as an example,through the analysis and investigation of LING Shu-hua's attitude and behavior towards education,career,marriage and social contact,this paper tries to reveal objectively and accurately the influence of modern Chinese social transformation and social concept change on the May 4th female writers represented by LING Shu-hua.
