Research On The Value Of Life About Confucius And Mencius

The problem of life is an important subject that human beings have been thinking about.Life and death are two major problems that we must face directly and cannot be avoided in the world,they are exists at home and abroad.In real life,everyone will thinking about some problems,how to face with the life,and how to reflect the meaning of self-existence in the crowd.The view of life is the fundamental understanding about life and death,and it is also a kind of values that people hold on.However,some people neglect life in the process of self-realization,so establishing a scientific outlook on life system is an urgent problem that must be solved in contemporary society.The establishment of a scientific outlook on life should take into account the essence of Chinese traditional culture.Confucius and Mencius,as a representative of Chinese traditional culture,especially Confucian culture,their views of life has great research value and practical significance.From the perspective of ancient Chinese traditional culture,this paper uses text analysis to dig out the rich connotations about views of Confucius and Mencius from the Analects and Mencius,which are composed of three levels: the outlook on natural life that attaching importance to life,the outlook on spiritual life of inner sages and outer kings,and the outlook on social life with harmony as its most precious value.Then deriving some excellent elements from it,and providing a direction for people to establish a correct and scientific outlook on life,remind people to cherish life,value their own life practice activities,and realize the spiritual value of life,so as to achieve the ideal realm of life.Firstly,this paper analyses how Confucius and Mencius views of life came into being,from the aspects of Confucius and Mencius’ life,the background of their life and the ideological origin of their outlook on life.Secondly,it analyses Confucius and Mencius views of life from three aspects: the importance of the human being,the joy of living and the great importance of the dead.It can be seen that Confucius and Mencius attach importance to the natural life of human beings,but On the basis of respecting life,Mencius pays more attention to the continuity and quality of life and pursues the happiness of life.Then it analyses the difference of Confucius and Mencius’ spiritual outlook on life from three dimensions: the pursuit of self-cultivation,the realm of life of self-restraint and revenge,and the spiritual yearning for ideal personality.Then it returns to real life,and interprets Confucius and Mencius’ social outlook on life,which regards harmony as the privilege of filial piety and respect for elders,the principle of harmony Finally,combining with some undesirable phenomena in contemporary society,this paper analyses the causes and the necessity of solving these problems urgently,and draws on some excellent elements from Confucius and Mencius’ outlook on life in order to cultivate contemporary people’s awareness of life and health science,and establish self-consciousness of self-cultivation and noble values of life so as to enhance personal and family happiness.And the purpose of establishing harmonious society relations.
