Every country and every ethnic group in the world has different folk cultures,so there are cultural differences between people.In order to communicate better,people need to learn from each other's folklore and culture.In China,traditional festivals have rich content,a long history,and profound ideological connotations.The education of traditional Chinese festivals has a positive effect on Chinese studying in China,further understanding of China,and facilitation of communicating with Chinese people.More and more foreigners not only want to learn Chinese language knowledge,but also hope to understand the cultural connotation of traditional Chinese festivals and increase the chances of experiencing Chinese traditional culture.This thesis starts with traditional Chinese festivals,using questionnaires and interview as research methods to investigate the Chinese studying students'knowledge,emotions and experiences about traditional Chinese festivals,and to understand the Chinese students'awareness of traditional Chinese festivals.This thesis is to understand the level of Chinese studying students'knowledge of Chinese traditional festivals,their emotional attitudes towards Chinese traditional festivals,their expectations for festivals,and the participation and motivation of Chinese traditional festival experiences.Based on the survey,the international students'needs for understanding Chinese traditional festivals are discussed,and some suggestions on the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication of traditional Chinese festivals were put forward acoordingly.This thesis consists of six parts:the first chapter is the introduction.It introduces the research background,research review,the significance of the topic,the research content,research methods,and the innovation of this paper.The second chapter is research design.It introduces research tools and research objects.The author analyzes students'basic information,education levels,studying universities in China,majors in China,duration of Chinese studying,Chinese levels,and how long they have been in China This chapter also introduces the design content of the questionnaire and introduces the interview outline.The third chapter is about the statistics and analysis analysis of the Chinese traditional festivals of Chinese studying students in China.It analyses the students'knowledge of Chinese traditional festivals,including the material,behavioral,and spiritual aspects of the names,time,activities,diets,origins,allusions,and spiritual connotations of traditional Chinese festivals.The fourth chapter analyzes the emotional attitudes of Chinese students to chinese traditional festivals,including the interest points of traditional Chinese festivals,the expectation of festivals,and the judgment of Chinese attitudes towards festivals.The fifth chapter is about the students experience in China to participate in the traditional Chinese festivals,and explorition of their their motivation and reasons for participation.The sixth chapter,based on research findings,proposes cross-cultural communication of traditional Chinese festivals.
