Research And Analysis On The Music Noumenon And Singing Practice Of Gounod’s Aria "If Happiness Makes You Smile"

Gounod’s aria "If Happiness Makes You Smile" is selected from the opera Faust.It is a mezzo-soprano work with beautiful melody,sincere emotion and typical Romantic style.This paper is based on the study and analysis of problems encountered in the process of learning and singing the aria "If Happiness Makes You Smile".Firstly,it makes a general analysis of the composer Gounod’s life and his work "If Happiness Makes You Smile";secondly,it combs the structure and flavor of the work from two aspects of harmony texture and musical form structure;finally,combined with the practical experience of singing the aria "If Happiness Makes You Smile",this paper focuses on the problems in singing this work,and finds out the reasons and solutions.On the one hand,it lays the foundation for singing other vocal music works.On the other hand,it hopes that the practical experience summarized in this paper can provide some references for the singers who’s going to sing the aria "If Happiness Makes You Smile".
