Self-control is the individual's active adjustment and control of his own behavior. As the core trait of personality, individual's self-control plays an important partin social adaptation and career success. In early childhood, the ability of individual self-control is developing very rapidly,so it is absolutely essential to study the development of children's self-control.The measuring tool used in this study is the teacher rating scale for children's self-control development characteristics. The questionnaire has undergone three rounds of argumentation and uses interviews, questionnaires and situational experiments to verify that the questionnaire has ideal reliability and validity.Based on this research, this study further explores the self-control of children, which is consisted of three researches:Research 1:To formulate a national norm for young children's self-control.Stratified random sampling in four regions of China determined by the China Development Index nationwide.Half of the provinces were selected in various regions, and representative cities were drawn from the provinces.Representative kindergartens were selected in various cities to measure the Chinese children's self-control development teacher rating scale.Based on the grade and gender differences in the development of children's self-control,the norm within the group is established by grade×gender, and the norm reference score is determined.Research 2: To explore the development characteristics of children's self-control.This study is sampled nationwide. From the perspective of the variable center,it is absolutely essential to explore the development characteristics of Chinese children's self-control.Research 3:Use latent category analysis to classify infant self-control.From the perspective of individual center,a logistic regression model was established to explore the characteristics of the grade and gender development of children's self-control types. After the results and discussion of the above three studies, the study has the following conclusions:1.The national norm of the teacher rating scale for children's self-control development characteristics has been formulated. The composition of the norm reference group has representativeness to the children's group in China, and can provide an objective basis for the self-control assessment of children,in order to facilitate theassessment of the relative position of the individual or group self-control assessment.2.The level of self-control of children increases with age.The key age for the development of self-control for young children is 4 to 5 years old,and the level of self-control of girls is higher than that of boys.3.Children's self-control can be divided into passive control, constrained compliance and autonomous control.4.The type of self-control develops with age,the proportion of passive control in3-4 years old is the largest, the proportion of constrained compliance in 4-5 years old is the largest, and the proportion of autonomous control in 5-6 years old is the largest. The proportion of female students with autonomous control and constrained compliance is higher than that of male students, and the proportion of passive control is lower than that of male students.
