A Portrait Study Of Frank Auerbach

Frank Auerbach is a contemporary British painter whose portraits are one of the main painting themes.This thesis mainly studies the portrait characteristics of Auerbach.The author studies the artistic language expressions of Auerbach's portraits and the pursuit of artistic creation through literature analysis,comparative analysis and iconography research methods.Through the thick product of the paint,the artist creates an embossed visual sense,using short lines and black lines of "Z" shape to surround the stiff,continuous geometry,capturing the true weight of the character by combining curves and subjective colors.Auerbach's pursuit of his works in artistic creation must exist in this tangible world,but it must be completely different from the real world.After repeated destruction and shaping of artistic creation,the artist finally obtained a portrait with human temperature and poetry.Auerbach is another influential British artist after Bacon and Freud.His portraits not only encourage the development of British portraits,but also the international art community.With the gradual familiarization of Auerbach in China,it is particularly important to analyze the research of his works and artistic concepts.By analyzing the characteristics of his portraits,the author provides some new reflections on the artistic creation of the current young oil painters in China.
