Zhaomingwenxuan edited by Pince Zhaoming in Liang Dynasty collected over 700 literary works of more than 130 wraters from the pre-Qin period to Qi and Liang Dynasty,and there were over 40 different styles like ode,poetey,imperial edict andmemorial to the throne.After the completion of the Wenxuan,the bookexerted a far-reaching influence on the literary world.In particular,because the poetry was used to select personnels,Wenxuan became a model for scholars to study poetry,which could even rank with The Four Books and Five Classics.The later studies of Wenxuan and its annotations involved versions,collations,phonologyandgenre.After Wenxuan was introduced to Japan,a large number ofblock-printed edition came out during the Edo Period,and literati of the timeused the katakana to interpret the meaning of the text and mark the pronunciation,which can be called H annotationalphonetic notation:.In the Meiji pernod,there were varnous dictionaries whose titles include Wenxuan,which can be called "lexical phonetic notation”.Aiming to find tihe features of their written sign system,phonetic characteristics and the links with traditional Chinese annotations of Wenxuan like annotations of Lishan and five ministers,this paper centers on the two kinds of phonetic notation of Wenxuan and selects'"phonetic notation of Wenxuan(????).and"dictionary ofWenxuan:enlarged edition(??????)),as the representatives of the two kinds of phonetic notation material of Wenxuan.The fill text is divided into six chapters:Chapter I is an introduction of past Sino-Japanese researches on phonetic notation material of Wenxuan,Chinese character sound in Japan and its phonological evolution,which lays the foundation for the full text.Chapter II makes a description about Japanese phonetic notation maternal of Wenxuan in Edo and Meiji period and its written sign system,which starts with introducing Japanese versions of Wenxuan and phonetic notation material afer the block-printed edition of Wenxuan came outin the Edo Pernod.We summarize two kinds of phonetic notation material of Wenxuan,select two representative books as the study object and explain the marking methods for Chinese character sound in Japan.Comparing with Middle Chinese phonetic system,Chapter III presents every characters and ?phonetic notations of each onset in two books and counts the main writing forms of each onset.Chapter IV counts the main forms of every characters and phonetic notations of each vowel,and attempts to explain some special forms of phonetic notations from the point of ancient sound,phonogram and annotations of six ministers.On the basis of the first two chapters,Chapter V summarizes the characteristics of onset and vowel of the two books,analyze their phonetic strata like kanon,goon and new kanon,and explains the differences between the two kinds of phonetic notations represented by this two books.In addition,this chapter shows the relationship betweenphonetic notations with the kana and annotations of six ministers from the perspective of polyphone,which reflects the special value of phonetic notations on Wenxuan in Edo and Meiji period,such as the study of Chinese character sound in Japan,phonetic notations on Wenxuan and eastxwardcommunication history of Wenxuan.Chapter VI is the summary of the whole theis.
