Research On Henan Xinzhi In The Republic Of China

Henan Xinzhi is one of the local chronicles manuscripts compiled by Henan Province during the Republican period.The manuscript was a local chronicle book of Henan Province which compiled by Liu Jingxiang and others in the 18^th year of the Republic of China?1929?,it was under the supervision of Han Fuju,who was the chairman of Henan Provincial Government at that time,and it was led by Henan Xinzhi Compilation Office.The manuscript included twenty volumes originally,because date-collecting was failed,the volume of the household was lack.After the compilation of the book,it was unable to print and publish due to the turbulence of the current situation and frequent warfare,the judicial volume has been lost.It was not proofreading and editing into the Henan Old Records until July 1988,and it was published by the Zhongzhou Ancient Books Publishing House.Henan xinzhi includes three volumes:upper,middle and lower,and the third volumes was published in1990.This paper takes Henan Xinzhi as the research object,focusing on its compiling background,compiling principles,style or catalogue,its value and deficiency,etc.This paper reveals the literature value and historical function of Xinzhi through explaining its compiling situation and content.Compared with the previous Henan local chronicles,Henan Xinzhi has made breakthroughs not only description,but also compilation style,entries setting and so on.In cataloguing,it breaks the traditional rules and regulations according to the time,and adds some new categories,which provides some reference for the later compilation of Henan local chronicles.In aspect of content arrangement,it focus on the present and overview ancient,we can see the nature and society,history and current situation of Henan during the Republican period,and provide important reference or historical reference for the sustainable development of Henan Province nowadays.
