The Art Anthropological Study On Xianyou Traditional Woodcarving In The Period Of Social Transformation

Since the reform and opening in China,the whole society has entered a new phrase of transformation.The rejuvenation of traditional handicrafts has redefined people's life,and also has constructed a new living state of man.Using means of the field work and methods of art anthropology,This dissertation takes the traditional wood-carving handicraft in Xianyou County as an example,to investigate and analyze the reasons for the rejuvenation of traditional woodcarving crafts in Xianyou.Against the transforming period of society in china,this dissertation explores the changes in the rejuvenation of traditional handicrafts,such as the methods of production and sale,social structure,situation of traditional heritage as well as people's daily life and aesthetic standard.This dissertation is divided into five chapters.The first chapter defines the investigation area and discusses the influence of natural environment and cultural environment on woodcarving in Xianyou.The second chapter reviews and discusses the reasons of the rejuvenation of woodcarvings in Xianyou since the reform and opening,classifies the sculptures and metaphor of the wood-carvings in Xianyou,and even discusses the inheritance and innovation of the wood-carving along with the era development.The third chapter selects the representative village —— Baxia for analysis,by taking the perspective of whole environment of the village,the type of interior workshop and the population mobility to observe the current situation of the wood-carving in Xianyou.From the aspects of inheritance mode,inheritance status and hierarchical structure of craftsmen,the fourth chapter analyzes the social structure of wood-carving craftsmen in Xianyou.The fifth chapter analyzes the significance of the rejuvenation of traditional handicrafts in the context of social transformation through the changes in sales methods,consumption act and motivation.
