On The Artistic Characteristics Of Li Gonglin’s Line Drawing

Line drawing is one of the techniques of Chinese painting,with neat and meticulous brushwork and unique rhythm,which is suitable for modeling and expressing the painting environment.From ancient to gu kaizhi generation,are in use,set great beauty and:flow.The song dynasty by the famous painter Li gonglin developed into an independent form and pushed it to a climax.Li gonglin’s meticulous brushwork is not only the best of hundreds of schools,but also famous for breaking the old and bringing forth the new.The vivid characters under his pen can not only show the personality of the characters,but also reflect the social style of the time through the characters in the picture,which is a model for later generations to learn.Li gonglin’s line drawing has distinct characteristics of The Times and personal style.Both the composition,scene arrangement,story line arrangement and character image have been carefully observed and considered.It is no longer a simple picture that only reflects and depicts the story.In the creation of contemporary figure painting,there are few works that only use line drawing to create,and a small number of works also depict the scenes of ancient characters or the life of ethnic minorities whose times are not clear.It can be said that line drawing works that express the life of modern characters are extremely rare.Contemporary life is changing with each passing day and new things are emerging in endlessly.Character line drawing should not be locked as a single means,but should be assisted by other techniques to present rich contemporary life.For the purpose of deliberately pursuing "literary effect",it avoids depicting the meaning behind the phenomenon and scenes of contemporary social cities.This paper will start from the analysis of the political,economic and cultural background of the song dynasty,and gradually discuss the artistic characteristics of Li gonglin’s line drawing and the inspiration for my creation.We will dig into his creation background and motivation,and try to extract the skills and experience of line description system,so as to find new techniques and creative ideas for line description of contemporary social and urban content,and create more excellent line description of contemporary life.
