A Brief Discussion On Li Gonglin’s "Five Horses Map" Line And Color Performance

"Five Horses Map" is a work of exquisite technique.Most of the studies on "Five Horse Diagrams" are from the perspective of historical theory.As a painting practitioner,the author pays more attention to the techniques and picture expression of "Five Horse Diagrams".Li Gonglin,a scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty,as the pioneer of Chinese painting,has been highly respected since ancient times,so that his aesthetic impact on the overall development of Chinese painting,it can be said that he is a pivotal figure in the history of painting."Five Horses" is the only known work of Li Gonglin that is not controversial and is sufficient to demonstrate his strength in painting.Therefore,in the author’s opinion,such a classic work is of profound study and research value.Its lines are very expressive,rigorous rational modeling without losing the original natural atmosphere.Its light color vivid,is also linear,and any linear elements in the picture are inseparable,has a smooth gas.In this confusion,are a few very attractive and full of information of the single line.Li Gonglin deepened the application of the combination of brush ink and paper,creating a more direct brush and ink painting method,which is clearly expressed in the mottled and thick sense of fur,and forms some texture contrast and echo with the direct line.
