This paper discusses the requirements of religious art for the display of specific dark space,so as to discuss the field and space construction in the dark space of modern and contemporary art,sometimes intentionally retaining darkness as a component element of works.In this way,the field of exhibition space and works become one.At the same time,such works can also be regarded as a kind of medieval retrospect.In addition,let's look at the current art.Since entering the 21 st century,with the continuous development of various human technologies,the use of different materials and technical means in contemporary art practice at home and abroad has emerged in endlessly,especially the emergence of artistic practice related to the use of light,so that simple white and bright space has been difficult to meet the requirements of current artists.Artists also put forward different requirements for the space to show their creations.From many backgrounds,dark space is a new proposition to be discussed.Dark space brings people different feelings.Artists also have different ways of using and expressing in their personal creation.The third part of the article is about the experience of French artist Christian Boltanski American artist James Turrell and Denmark/Iceland in three ways: emotional stimulus in silence,gaze in immersion and magic of light and darkness in nature.Artist Olafur Eliasson,these three artists' creations are analyzed to study their use of darkness,darkness and darkness.From the perspective of creation and viewing,this paper analyses how our feelings are aroused in the poor light environment.
